Clan Rangers
2nd Battalion Policy
Drafted by [R2]Rangerhoz and [R2]K.F.C.
I. Recruitment.
Clan Rangers
recruitment is an invite-only process, though we do hold try outs if
it’s deemed necessary. Individuals that wish to join should express
this to an officer, play on one of our game servers, and idle in our
channel ( #rangers on irc.gamesnet.net ). This Clan is not about
winning matches. We’re a group of friends that like to hang out and
play games. It just so happens that we’re organized, competitive,
and have the skills to hold our own in nearly any arena.
II.
Requirements
This section
covers the requirements to be met by all Rangers.
-
Rangers are to be professional at all times.
-
While wearing the Ranger tab or any nick that connects you to the
Rangers, you will present yourself in a manner that is honorable
to the rest of your clan.
-
Rangers
must posses a proactive outlook and strive to better the clan as a
whole.
-
There
is a zero tolerance policy regarding cheating. Any rangers
caught cheating will be immediately removed from the clan.

our servers at ALL times.

abused. Any abuse will be acted on swiftly.

on the Clan Servers, in IRC, or any other time the clan is being
represented.
III. Squads
1St Squad
(Active) -
This is the
Clan Rangers match squad. It upholds the highest standards of both
game-play and teamwork. Rangers in this squad must present
themselves honorably, as they are a direct representation of the
clan as a whole. Attitude and attendance are taken very seriously.
Requirements:
-
Active
Rangers must be available for 75% of all matches and practices.
-
Active
Rangers will follow a chain of command, giving their superiors
full support.
-
Active
Rangers will carry themselves with honor at all times.
-
Active
Rangers are required to place an emphasis on teamwork.
Those failing to do so will be replaced.
2nd Squad
(Active Reserves) –
The Active
Reserves play a large role in the clan. This squad will consist of
the players that are not able to meet the requirements to be in the
Active squad. Active Rangers Rangers will be called to active duty
in times of need. A member of the Active Reserves can be a new
member of the clan working his way through the system, or an
existing member who simply does not have the means/time to make the
Active squad. Active Reserves can be promoted to Active duty as
needed, and will be expected to meet all of their requirements.
Requirements:
-
Active
Reserves must be available for 50% of all practices.
-
All Act. Reserves are expected to be available for matches if
given a 72 hour notice.
-
If the previous requirements can not all be made, the Active
Reserves will be responsible for some other function with in the
clan. This would involve such things as website maintenance,
attendance charting, meeting minutes, or scrimmage management.
3rd Squad
(Inactive Reserves) –
This squad will
be compiled of Rangers that cannot meet either of the previous two
squad’s requirements. The productivity and time requirements are
lower, however Inactive Rangers are still encouraged to participate,
and contribute to the Clan. Any excused absence greater than 3
months will lead to an evaluation by the Clan leadership. Any
unannounced absence longer than 1 month is terms for an immediate
discharge.
Rangers can move
between the squads on a voluntary basis after informing both the
Command team and the Squad leaders of both their present squad and
the squad they wish to join. If for any reason a Ranger is moved
involuntarily it will take a ruling of the Command Team and both
Squad Leaders.
IV.
Ranks
Trainee–
These are prospective members of Clan Rangers. Trainees will go
through a two-week trial period. After which, a decision will be
made by the clan officers: to promote to Ranger status or to
discharge from the Clan. The decision will be based on character,
participation, attendance, and skill. Trainees are not given admin
status on Ranger servers, but are given operator status in IRC
#rangers.
Additional
requirements:
-
Trainees are
required to make 3 out of 4 practices during this time if the Clan
is in match season. In the event a practice must be missed, an
officer must be informed.
-
Trainees are
required to wear the tab of [R2-t].
-
Trainees must
have a full understanding of the Clan Rules and Requirements prior
to their tryout. Ignorance is unacceptable.
-
Trainees are
to respect all Rangers and guests of the Rangers. This includes
IRC and on game servers.
Ranger
– Players who pass through the Trainee period are promoted to Ranger
status. As a Ranger, the player becomes a full member of the Ranger
squad. As a result, they are permitted to wear the [R2] tab, and
are granted admin status on Ranger servers. Rangers form the core of
the clan and make up the majority of the members. Rangers are
required to participate in Clan activities to their fullest ability,
both time and ability-wise.
Rangers are granted access to the clan website and ranger-mail as
well. Lack of participation may lead to placement into the Inactive
squad or dismissal.
Officers
–
Officers are appointed as needed by the Senior Officers and Clan
Leader. Officers will be placed in a limited leadership position.
Their decision-making power is limited to advising Ranger leadership.
The Clan Leader will make the final decision. Officers are
given access to the
officers@clan-rangers.com mailing list. Officers are
superior in rank to standard “Rangers” and assume command when no
officers are present.
Veteran
–
this is a special rank reserved for the elder Rangers. They have
served the clan honorably for at least 2 years, and are voted on by
the current veterans. They fall into a non-commissioned officer
role. They will provide the backbone and uphold morale within the
clan. They are second only to the CO and XO.
CO and XO
-
The ultimate executive power of the clan, superior to all ranks, as
well as overall member and match management. These positions are
designed to act as one. There is little difference between the power
that they hold except that final word on most decisions belongs to
the Ranger Commander (CO). Special privileges include complete
access to the Clan Rangers website and access to the
officers@clan-rangers.com
mailing list.
V. Competitive
Play
During the
summer months the Clan is normally not involved in any tournaments
or matches. If a group wishes to be involved in one they can bring
the matter to the attention of the CO and XO. At the beginning of
the fall season the clan will decide what tournaments it wishes to
be involved in. Practices will also start at the beginning of the
fall season and the squad requirements will be enforced.
