Yes, it's amazing, but true!

Bravo Squad beat Alpha squad on de_inferno by a few rounds. It sure was a wake up call to the Alpha team. Great job Bravo. This performance may move some of you up to Alpha!

If you're interested in full demos of the match, with Liq, and myself commentating, get a hold of one of us, and well give you the link. In other news, I've analyzed my IRC logs, and will be posting our channel stats monthly. Check it out!!! I'll be doing a year-end one as well. The random quotes, and data it puts together is pretty funny.

Hang tough Rangers, our REAL matches will begin soon! Also, I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED RANCON4 RESPONSES... Please get those to me.

/me salutes

Mansa has appointed my sorry ass to be Bravo Team Leader.   I
have been granted rights to pretty much do whatever I want as long as it falls
in the Ranger guidelines.  This means we get to think out of the box, be
imaginative, enter tourneys along with Alpha Team, and to bring in some new
blood.

The following individuals are in the Alpha Team as of now: NL,
Lore, Mustang, Jacket, Wally, Roland, Alan. No-Life is the Alpha Team Leader.

That means the rest of you are in Bravo Team.  I want 6
volunteers to make up the primary roster.  Need at least 4 of you to be
hardcore (well as much as life permits).

At the end of the day all I want to do is look back; say we
had fun, and KICK ALPHA TEAMS ASS.  Its all about having fun, to hell with the
rest of it.

Rangers,

Check this out! It was sent in from Efru, a guy who likes the Clan, and plays on our server. I think it's pretty cool!

I have the stat page up now as you all should know.

http://cs4.clan-rangers.com/cs_stats/index.html

Presently I have it set to 90 days and it actually has 62 days of data. I
am curous how many days you all would like to see in stats. There are ups and
downs to both.  It is nice to be able to go back and look at the last 2
months but the page can only be updated once a day as it takes from 1 hour to 4
hours (depends on how many llamas on CS).  If I take it down to a lower
number i could have it run every hour if we wanted.  I leave it up to you
all.

I can even temporarily remove the log files and for a scrim, then run the
perl program when its over to generate them just for it.

Check out the link i posted in the

PsychoStats forum
and the responses to this same question.

Rangers,

First of all, I'm announcing the Rancon4 dates:

Rancon4 is tenitivly scheduled for Memorial Day weekend, 2002. For the calendar challenged, that's the 27th of May, a Monday. I'd like the event to start on the 24th, and end on the 27th. There's no excuse not to make it, you have 6, yes *SIX* months to plan. Get off work, tell your significant other, whatever. Unless I'm called to war, I expect you to try and come. :)

I'm going to make a little website with all the information, but here's the basics:

When: 24-27 May 2002

Where: Racine, Wisconsin

Why: To have fun, frag, share files, watch Star Wars: EpisodeII

What: Just bring yourself. I'll supply the sleeping space, and food. Lore and I can probably make enough computers for everyone. I also picked up a few Rangergifts at Ft.Knox for all attendees.

In other news:

We've promoted Hannibal to recruit! He's a great player, and he can even follow directions! He's a staple of the the mighty Bravo Squad, and related to our p1mp Jacket, in some way.

I've also promoted RangerHoz, and No-Life to Officer positions due to their participation, and Squad leadership roles. I know Hoz never thought he'd be an Officer, but now he has the chance! Officers, and Senior officers make the big decisions in the clan. I'm glad to have both of these guys on board!

Lastly, CAL play should start next week, so practice up!!!

/me salutes

Well I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving. One day out of the year to consume huge quanitities of food is something that should be cherished. However, for a many counterstrike players, I'm certain quite a few of you pack away the beef on off-days too. After all, gaming is good for the body. Who says this isn't healthy?

From what I've been told or heard, we've finally been entered into the Cyberathlete Amateur League. Go check out the open counterstrike team lists and find our Alpha and Bravo squads. Remember those names: we'll be hitting the top in no time.

Oh, and if someone knows of a good league/tourney that is still taking clans, pass it along. We need to get active in case CAL falls apart and/or loses us in the shuffle.

Not too much to report today. CAL, as I've stated, should be gearing up soon. Apparently even though we are registered, they don't have us slotted into the upcoming schedule for next week. Junior and I are pretty stupified about this, and he's currently investigating the matter. As I've said earlier, if anyone knows of a good CS league, speak up now, we need some inferior clans to destroy.

That's all for now, updates as circumstances unfold.

Some good news on the competitive front. I think I may have scored a scrimmage with the midnight operatives. Kudos to Gigolo-Joe for bringing them to my attention. From what I can tell, they seem a top-notch group of fellas. Hopefully our overtures for a scrimmage will bloom into a stronger friendship. It's always good to know another solid clan or two for scrimmages, practice, and the like. After all, we all know that mature, long-lasting counterstrike clans just flourish all over the place.

CAL is still anyone's guess. I give Junior credit for continually riding whoever is administering our area of the league. They have to cave eventually to the emails and pestering. Rangers don't give up, they'll learn that definitive and self-evident fact soon enough.

So even though we may not be listed on CAL scheduling just yet, continue brushing up on that map. We also will be having practice at the usual time tomorrow. Be there or be put in a cage with Creo.

Thanksgiving break ends today. Sigh. School, to inform those of you who are optimistic about the prospect of returning, sucks. I have numerous projects hovering over my head like small songbirds, and each is taking careful measure before defecating on me in turn. Well, we'll see how it all pans out. I could be either severely raped, or I may get lucky and find all the resources I need in time. Journalism and Japanese are the worst, the latter being self-explanatory I hope. Some may wonder why I'm taking Japanese, and I understand your confusion. Find me on IRC and I'll fill you in on the whole sordid logic for my decision to kick my brain (and my freetime) in the crotch and run.

Well, after an entire morning run of struggling, I have finally mastered the subtle nuances of Ghost Recon. I still have a long way to go, granted, but it’s a promising start. If you thought the Rainbow Six line of simulated strategic combat was unforgiving to stupidity, you haven't seen anything yet. I look forward to further coops with Mansa and the rest of you goons who have a copy of the game. Somewhere Tom Clancy is smiling and conjuring up yet another complex and horrifying way the world will collapse into chaos, and how it will consequently be saved by a highly trained group of military specialists commanded by video game enthusiasts who barely have a tangible control over their own lives.

Oh, I hear Fancy, Hoz, and Mansa are venturing out today to a gunshop. I don't think a comment from me is needed for the mind to generate enough humorous implications of that. I fear for the state of Wisconsin.

That's it for Sunday folks. See you next week when the wheels of life begin to turn and we're thrust back into the hellish realms of academia and work. Hmm, maybe Mansa could pick up a gun for me...

Ok, so I log on to #rangers this morning after lugging my fat-ass monitor and computer setup back into my room, and see a very disparaging thing. In the topic of the channel is the question "Practice Tonight?" As my previous post stated, practice is on schedule for the usual time tonight. Be there.

The sole purpose of the news and briefing section is one thing, despite my usual verbose meanderings and deviations: to be informative. Read the news and be informed-it's as simple as that. :)

From what I've heard from clan members already registered and playing in CAL, this process does indeed take an inordinate amount of time. So bear with it guys, and keep practicing. We may still make it in this week. I hate to assume all our constant badgering is falling on deaf ears over there.

No word on the possible scrimmage yet. I've talked with one of their reps, and they should be in contact with Mansa or I as soon as our application is read.

As I've mentioned, everything is set back up on my end, including my mic. You should be able to hear more of my charming voice in the games ahead from now on.

My personal life is a swirling maelstrom of chaos, due to the myriad of academic projects forming a strategic alliance with private transpirations. Their goal is either my eventually success or my death. I doubt I'll be able to tell which until it's too late.

In layman's terms, I need a beer really bad. Whether the consumption of alcohol is to celebrate or drown myself I have yet to see. :)

That's Monday folks. See you at practice.

Good job working on mill last night Rangers. Despite the dislike some of us have against the map, I think we learned a lot. Especially in terms of some on-the-spot strategy.

Nothing much else to report right now. Remember to FAX asap.

UPDATE - Turns out that they flubbed the scheduling over at CAL. We're playing next week, and the map will be 'de_fang' if I'm not mistaken. Be sure to grab it from where they indicate on the website. I'm taking a look at it tonight.

Nothing much to report today. The wheels are still turning on most of our projects, and CAL is definitely a go for next week.

I'm not sure about the rest of you, but the shopping season around here is crazy. There is a big mall back where I live that operates as a regional shopping facility. The entire area around there is just packed with vehicles and shoppers. It's insane. I can only hope that it has died down over the week.

For those of you who don't normally read our rantings over at Penismightier.com, here's something that I posted recently that I think is worth sharing. My friend noticed something on FOX News. Some kind of joke segment of John Madden covering the crisis in Afghanistan:

Ven0m0usShad0w: John Madden calls the war on terror

Ven0m0usShad0w: "here's china up here"

Ven0m0usShad0w: "no wait, that's not china"

Ven0m0usShad0w: "i don't know what that is up there"

Ven0m0usShad0w: "but it's probably important"

Ven0m0usShad0w: "john, what can you tell us about the u.s. special forces in the area?"

Ven0m0usShad0w: "well....they're special"

That's all for Wednesday. Dismissed.

It's Thursday, and that means practice. Be there at the usual time. I highly suggest we all download next week's call map, de_fang, and check it out like we did with mill. If we can garner up the same enthusiasm we had with last practice, I'm sure we'll learn the map handily.

I am about to be raped by a Japanese quiz that I hardly studied for. Why? The answer is 4 straight hours of Grand Theft Auto III. That game is simply amazing, you could almost play until you died of starvation. I finally crawled into bed at around 3am, and slept way past my alarm. Fun Fun Fun!

Wish me luck, I'll need it! Remember to download that map and check it out!
