Rangers,

This is my last post as the Ranger leader. I've been mentioning this to the other officers, and active members for some time now... It's been fun over the last year watching the Clan grow in numbers, and in participation. We did great last CS season, and everybody's all ready to go again! I'm very proud for what everyone's contributed. I leave you in the capable hands of our Senior Officer, and Officers.

He lasted beyond the age of most

when others did not wish to play,

he found a path while others lost

a reason or a will to stay.

Granted, he was of simple mind

compared to others of his kind,

but truth be told, he was unique

He is merely leaving from the steep

ledge of power within our ranks

to deal with llamas, or other sheep.

He will join us in our journey

Anticipated settings are admin mod running anti cheat with voting enabled. Authentication information will be forthcoming as the server acutally goes up. Oh yeah, it even has a player base.

Congratulations to KFC and Wally on their promotion to Officers. They are the two newest additions to the leadership team that I'm building for The Rangers.

Over the next week or two, I'll be promoting one more person to an officer level, and then meeting with the leadership team to discuss roles and responsabilities.

The result of this should be some reorganization in the way we train and the goals of our practices, and different ways of managing matches and squad rosters for matches and scrims. You can expect the website stuff on the Intel page to be used much more in the near future, including some new features!

If you have ideas, please email them to the clan, or talk to an officer, and be assured that your ideas and concerns will be addressed.

I'm looking forward to what this new year and new leadership team will bring The Rangers over the coming year.

UPDATE: Congratulations to Alchemist, who has been promoted to Officer rank. Though new to the clan, Alchemist has already demonstrated great leadership capability and will be an important addition to the leadership team.

In case you didn't get the e-mail...

Well, more of this will be discussed Monday, but for now I wanted to inform you all of recent events.

I was able to score us a slot in the entrance division of STA-CSX(Stronger than All). This is a North American league. They pride themselves on accepting any clan into the league who has exhibited sportsmanship and fair play, and they filter clans continuously, so only those that meet those standards get to stay around. STA-CSX is invitational only. They have standards which all clans are expected to live up to. If we can't live up to their standards, then they won't let us stay, it's as simple as that.

In some ways we are ahead of the game. They require CSGuard on sanctioned servers. Fortunately, cs4 just got it.

One thing I'm going to have to ask all active members to do is read the RULES and INFORMATION from cover to cover. This is mandatory. Even the slightest violation of regs in the entrance division (Charlie) is watched for. There are no cheaters in STA, it is simply impossible due to the intense intivitational process.

One of the admins, Skegs, informed me that our first match is thursday the 17th (The map will be dust2). All Charlie-division matches are thursdays at 9:30pm EST. Shouldn't be a problem for us since we usually hold practice around this time. I expect all active members to be there regardless since it is a practice night. Practice will be set tentatively for 8:00pm EST unless it is revised beforehand.

If you clearly demonstrate that you don't know STA-CSX rules, then bad
things will happen. Because if they pick up on that, we *will* be removed without notice, no questions asked.

I know some of you may not be aware of STA's existence up until this point, but this is where the big kids play gentlemen. We have to leave the shallow end of the pool. In order to do this, we must act the part.

The match on thursday is now listed on our signup page. If you are interested in playing, sign up there. Obviously we can't fit everyone onto a team. Monday there will be a meeting, as I've stated, to discuss the who's/what's/how's of what will occur before that date.

I would like to take a moment to announce the PROMOTION of WULFIE to the rank of soldier.

Wulfie has shown he has what it takes to be a Ranger. He has shown that he is willing to go the extra mile for the clan and take on extra responsibility when no one else would or could. Specifically, I'm referring to his organizing troops in our IRC channel for the IGL match with clan ]RE[ we participated in earlier this month. Wulfie's tenacity and veracity to get the job done was very impressive. This was not his responsibility, however, he saw the clan's need and stepped up to the plate to accomplish the task at hand. Without Wulfie's outstanding performance the clan would have had another big FORFEIT for the 2nd week in a row. This is only one example of many in which Wulfie has shown his ability to accomplish tasks and over come adversity. He makes a fine addition to our ranks and I would like all to congratulate him.

It's that time of the week again. IGL match. Wednesday, 8:30 est, on CS4... we're playing Train this week, against Fists of Legend - ]3[ they are 1-0, with like...2 unplayed unmatches.
